What the extension does
The extension provides a popup interface for selecting files and requesting format conversions through the Filecree service at filecree.com.
This page explains what the Filecree File Converter Chrome extension processes, what data reaches the Filecree backend, and what the extension does not collect.
The extension provides a popup interface for selecting files and requesting format conversions through the Filecree service at filecree.com.
Files remain in the extension popup only for the current session while you prepare a conversion request. The current implementation does not use Chrome sync storage or local extension storage to keep a persistent file history.
Uploaded files are processed by the Filecree backend and converted artifacts are written to server storage so they can be downloaded from the generated link. The backend also stores download-job records in its database. This implementation does not currently advertise automatic deletion windows, so do not use the service for files you are unwilling to upload to the backend.
Download links are token-based rather than public indexes, but anyone with the link can access the generated download page. No statement on this page should be read as a promise of end-to-end encryption or zero-retention processing.
Questions about this privacy policy can be sent through the Filecree project contact details or support channel associated with the extension listing. This page applies to the Filecree File Converter Chrome extension and its related backend endpoints on filecree.com.
